The problem
Parliament raised the commuting deduction for all of 2026 (3.17 kr/km from 25 to 120 km instead of 2.23 kr, and 3.51 kr in outlying municipalities), but you only get it on your payslip if you update field 417 yourself. On 4 Oct 2026 DR reported that about 800,000 commuters still hadn't, leaving 2,500 to 3,000 kr each sitting with Skat, and the tax minister publicly urged them to act. Skat also warns that the deduction is not carried over to the årsopgørelse: you have to enter it again from March 2027 (rubrik 51), and Beierholm lists 3 May 2027 09:00 as the deadline for corrections. Hybrid workers have it worst, because you may only count days you actually travelled, not home-office, holiday or sick days, and almost nobody keeps that count during the year.

What it does: a free calculator with the 2026 rates (normal and outlying-municipality, over 120 km, bridge trips) that turns distance and commuting days into the figure for field 417, plus a simple one-tap day log (office, home, holiday, sick). Pricing: monthly at a low price (~19 kr/month, or about 149 kr/year), because the log runs all year and the deduction must be filed every year: calendar import to pre-fill office days, several workplaces and trekantskørsel, a year-end summary with the exact rubrik 51 number, and reminders when the 2027 forskudsopgørelse opens and when the årsopgørelse arrives. How it could scale: an employer plan that gives hybrid staff the log as a perk, English and Danish versions for internationals, and add-ons for other easily forgotten fields such as union fees and service deductions.

Skat's own TastSelv calculator works out distance but keeps no day log. MoveJack, Driversnote and Tripbook are GPS logbooks built mainly for business mileage reimbursement. No simple, no-GPS commuting-day log found that outputs the field 417 and rubrik 51 figures.
Build notes
Next.js PWA with a local-first day log (IndexedDB) and optional sync via Auth.js + Neon. Rates live in a yearly config. Distance can be entered manually or estimated with a free routing API. An .ics import pre-fills office days. Resend sends reminders in November and March.
